The fragmentation of a nation

America has two paths ahead of her and both lead to rebirth. The first path leads to a period of Caesarism and America shall become a true empire. The second path leads to smaller states. There is no soft solution for the land of faustian princes. The symbols no longer unite the various groups like they once had. Christianity does not have the power to sway the masses and create unity anymore.

Most that call themselves, Christian do not go to church. They prefer libertine excess to reasonable moderation. “I got mine” is a common phrase among Baby Boomers and Generation Xers. A true sense of community and national pride has been absent for some time. It only resurfaced in the 2010s because one billionaire did what elites used to do. Appeal to labour and safety concerns of the working class. Immigration, jobs, and threats from hostile groups.

The elites of the left side of politics have abandoned labour for decadent tastes that turn off most workers. I’ll admit that they still pay lip service to labour issues but it’s not their main purpose. Cultural transformation is more valued by them. Traditional culture is seen as disgusting and outdated. Something that must be destroyed.

The elites on the right no longer care about traditional values or anything else that’d make them truly right wing. The purpose of the American right is keeping businessmen happy. These elites also have no love for organic culture and community. Their willingness to outsource jobs and import cheap labour that’s fresh for exploitation shows what they desire.

In truth, Both factions do not oppose each other one bit. One side wants what’s profitable and if decadence is profitable, Which it is. They will choose it over traditional culture and healthy communities. A new elite is necessary for saving a declining nation. But who will step up? It’s  likely that no one will. Fringe movements on both sides will found new states. The ideologies of old will be nothing but a page in a textbook somewhere.

The common man could be forgiven for thinking that society is moved by sweet ideals like the “common good”. But the real motivator is blood, and influence. Higher ideals in a democratic capitalist society is often used to gain social capital and coins. Slogans like “Hope” are sugar-coated lies for the gullible to consume.

Ideologies like Marxian socialism, and anarchism are niche markets for entrepreneurs to cash in on. When you have millionaires and corporations promoting Karl Marx that should be a red flag. You have wealthy musicians and documentary filmmakers promoting revolutionary ideology. But they’ll keep the privileges of bourgeois life.

The edgy American left doesn’t seem to understand why the ruling class has embraced them. They’ve realized that New Left morality combined with capitalist economics leads to a beautiful scenario for them to exploit. The authentic fringe movement is now the one that believes in borders and traditional values. The once revolutionary left has now become the lapdogs of big business.

The mainstream American right is compromised of moderates, soft populists, and Christian conservatives. The moderates only job is to defend the market. The Christian conservatives fight abortion and fail. They make appeals to faith and it falls flat. Soft populists are the most useful of the bunch because they will actually fight for their ideas. But they’re the smallest faction. The one thing that the American right is good for is gun rights.

Talking about family values, faith, and community is a historical right wing issue. But at the same time, They believe in capitalism, A system that puts profit above all else. Organic culture be damned. Everywhere that gets touched by American businessmen will soon be Americanized. This is a radical form of universalism that seeks to eliminate difference in order to increase profits. This is not the universalism of an empire with a unifing theme in order to maintain stability. Syncretic deities became a thing in order to maintain peace between two ethnic groups. But traditional culture was retained.

Americanism is money and subculture. The American high culture is largely dead and the symbols don’t unite us. When flags are burned and disrespected. Your nation is beginning to decay. The toothpaste is out of the tube. America as you know it is finished. New Leftism and Traditionalism are the options now.

The nostalgia for the 1950s on the right wing is a subconscious desire for a more genuine culture. The 1950s was the last stand of traditional American communitarianism. Before the decade of liberation. As much as Baby Boomers and Xers love the decadence of the 1980s. They still lust for a more wholesome period in our history. Millennials and Zers don’t have the slightest idea what a non-atomised society is. But there is a rising nationalist attitude that wants it to return.

Republics have not been keepers of the faith and tradition, For the Americas and Western Europe at least. Monarchies often had strong ties to the faith of the people and an incentive to actually maintain a territory. A monarch’s decadence and corruption could get him killed. So moderation is key. War was far more expensive for a King than it is for a President. Wars were funded with the King’s purse and he had to have a really good reason to hit up vassals for coin and men. The President only needs to tax the people. Which means the executive can have a larger military.

The modern state is more exploitative than the archaic model. But a full return to archaic models is not possible. Constitutional Monarchism similar to that of Luxembourg and Monaco is ideal. The monarchs still have power and so does the parliament. The modern man of the West doesn’t understand the idea of not having a say. He will revolt against those that dare to take their vote away. He won’t miss presidential elections but having no say at all might lead to problematic situations.

Just like America lacks a healthy high culture, The nation also lacks a common culture. We’ve got more subcultures than we can count. But we don’t really have a unifing theme to embrace. The current attempt at it is weak and generic. Sports and flags are not enough to maintain a territory for a long period of time. The masses are slowly realizing this. So the future of the United States of America is uncertain.

Christianity has been liberalised and mocked beyond repair. It would take something huge to really get it back to the point that it would appeal to Western peoples. Christian traditionalists believe that everything will be back on the right course with a religious revival. But is that even possible with the state that society is in? Ancestor worship, national unity, and folk customs is likely to be more potent for a Traditionalist movement in the modern day. Insulting someone’s deceased relatives will be met with a primal reaction. Maybe with the exception of a city dweller that has lived an artificial existence for their whole lives.

Defacing Christian symbols is not met with outrage. It is met with the thought process of accepting different opinions. This is a civilized way of thinking that’s still being applied in a decadent and increasingly unstable society. A peaceful resistance to desecration of cultural symbols would go along way. But Christians no longer do that for the most part. When you become unwilling to defend your faith and culture. It will be replaced and you will convert just like the polytheists of old Europe. You mock the neo-polytheists but they’re in a better situation.

Democracy and capitalism put popularity first. By embracing these systems, You have allowed your homeland to become a shopping mall. This is the future that was chosen for you. You can continue it or you can end it. Conservatism is not compatible with popularity contests.

  1. Three quotes stand out to me,

“America has two paths ahead of her and both lead to rebirth. The first path leads to a period of Caesarism and America shall become a true empire. The second path leads to smaller states.”
“Traditional culture is seen as disgusting and outdated. Something that must be destroyed.”
“Everywhere that gets touched by American businessmen will soon be Americanized. This is a radical form of universalism that seeks to eliminate difference in order to increase profits.”

As much as we can hope for it, I believe this country is too deep in troubles to adopt constitutional monarchy like Monaco. As you say in the first quote, America is coming upon either empire or fragmentation; but history teaches us that both are caused by wars. In that regard, no American president has ever looked more like Caesar than Trump. The huge concern is, if America rises stronger, will it continue to corrupt the world and cause traditional customs in most nations to wear off for the sake of profit (as the Roman empire did)? Or if it falls, how far will it drag the world along with it?

    1. I think if things continue on the path towards empire, then the US will indeed corrupt the world. You should see Europe. 12 years ago I thought Germany had begun to resemble little America. That is even more true now. So much has changed in a few years. The same is largely true for much of Europe.

  2. Every point made in this post was astounding, but the following quote captured my attention perhaps the most, in part because it resonates with me on a more personal level:
“Christian traditionalists believe that everything will be back on the right course with a religious revival. But is that even possible with the state that society is in? Ancestor worship, national unity, and folk customs is likely to be more potent for a Traditionalist movement in the modern day. Insulting someone’s deceased relatives will be met with a primal reaction. Maybe with the exception of a city dweller that has lived an artificial existence for their whole lives.”

Christianity is, in my opinion, in it’s death throes. As an Odinist, I can’t help but to feel a little pleased. Meanwhile, there is a revival of the old ways of Europe. From the Celtic revival to the Odinist revival, the old gods are making a come back, and a major part of that is ancestor worship.
What you said about the artificial existence of the city dweller is a reality. Even people in semirural settings are largely corrupted by the decadence of consumerism. The old indigenous ways of various cultures the world over are usually much more in synch with nature and the earth. It would require a major disconnect from that artificial existence for people to come back to their ancestral roots in a meaningful way, and quite frankly, I don’t think the majority of these urbanites can be rehabilitated.
Personally, I think if the nation would go the route of breaking up into separate nations, it would be for the best, and give a chance for these traditionalist revivals to grow.
