Hedonist is seen as a negative term and rightly so. But what might not be mentioned too much is that Epicurus would have most likely condemned the overindulgent nature of baby boomers. Epicurus believed that pleasure should be pursued until it’s satiated. You can never have too much of a good thing? Epicurus would disagree. Right wing Boomers are critiqued for being too greedy. Left wing Boomers for being too sex obsessed. But the culture of the baby boomer is really a synthesis of the two. They’re both equally adolescent in the way that they act. Free love and profit uber alles has really screwed future generations. They critique twenty year olds but in reality it’s really a critique of themselves.
